Please tell us about yourself. We are Logan (a nurse) and Sean (Best Buy corporate), and we are in our early 30s.
How long have you lived in the property? About 9 months.
How did other places you saw compare to this one? This apartment was recently remodeled and looked very classy, well kept, clean, and was very spacious. You could tell the landlords have put a great deal of effort into maintaining the apartment. In comparison to this apartment, many of the units we looked at from other companies appeared more run-down and not as well maintained.
What was your first impression when you saw the place?
When I first visited this apartment on the day of the showing, it was absolutely packed with interested potential renters. The landlords were on site to answer any questions, and they created a nice atmosphere with lighted candles decorating the rooms. The newly remodeled kitchen was very impressive, with granite counters, tile floor, and stainless steel appliances. The hardwood flooring in the rest of the apartment was in perfect condition, and the original old wood detailing was very well maintained.
Considering the size, location, list of amenities, the grade and quality of the baths, kitchens and finishings, how well priced do you think the apartment is? This unit is very well priced for the size, the amenities, and for how nice the interior looks. We moved here from Uptown, and our previous experience had been paying a lot for apartments that were not nearly as nice.
What have your friends said about the place after you moved in? They have all been very impressed with how nice the interior of the apartment looks.
How busy was it when you came to see the place? There must have been at least 30 other interested potential renters, besides myself, who showed up to the viewing of this apartment. The apartment was packed.
All of our places rent within 24 hours of coming available. What tips can you share to others to also get a place like yours (i.e. we acted fast)? It was helpful to have filled out applications for myself and Sean on the spot, and to have given our deposit right away. I believe this is how we rose to the top of the list of all the people who were interested in renting this unit. I would advise to act fast, and submit all of your materials at the showing.
What do you like most about the location? Please share some tips for new tenants. We like that there are quite a few restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is also a farmer's market at the end of the block. The area is quiet and has a lot of wildlife (ex. turkeys, an albino squirrel), and the neighbors seem nice. There is plenty of on-street parking, and there is a park nearby.
Can you give us some example of management's commitment and professional service to maintaining and repairing the unit? The management is easily accessible through texting, and they are quick to respond to any requests we have. For example, they sent a plumber within several days of our reporting some plumbing issues in the bathroom and kitchen. They brought replacement lightbulbs and got our porch light working again when we couldn't figure out how to do it ourselves (it was complicated!). They have offered us an air conditioning unit and a portable fireplace at no extra charge. And they even installed a fence surrounding the property when they realized that a neighbor's dog was frequently defecating in the yard, and that this wasn't being picked up by the dog's owner. This summer, they plan to build a deck out back for us and the upstairs tenants to share.
How would you describe management? Management is very thorough with their communication about maintenance updates and with answering questions whenever we have them. We typically text management with our questions, and we get responses the same day. Management always makes an effort to address our concerns, and we feel like they make tenant satisfaction a high priority. When we first signed our lease, management even gave us a welcome gift of a houseplant from local flower shop Bloom and Buttercup.
Would you recommend Art District Realty properties to your friends? Yes, I would recommend Art District Realty. They are the best rental company I have dealt with in my 10+ years of being a renter.
